As the founder of the Hawaii Breast Society, Dr. Grosskreutz is very passionate about breast cancer awareness and health in the state. He has co-authored the Diagnostic Standards for early Breast Cancer (Hawaii Department of Health, 1999) and has often served as a lecturer on breast cancer detection at meetings of the Hawaii Medical Association and the Master's Radiology Conference. In addition, he served as the Chief of Staff at Hilo Medical Center from 2001-2002.
